Expanding collections that tell the story of our place—past, present, and beyond

By developing world-renowned collections, the University of Miami Libraries system has created a hallowed space where our stories can be archived, preserved, and shared.

Through our acquisitions, the Libraries are committed to enabling our students and scholars to know, to understand, and ultimately to solve the challenges faced by the Americas. We aspire to create a platform for collecting, researching, and exhibiting visual and cultural work created by Cuban artists. The University of Miami Libraries system also seeks to establish the University as a center for architectural history, with a concentration on leading architects working in Miami, in Cuba, and throughout the Caribbean. The departments that manage our holdings of distinctive collections preserve and provide access to a vast range of unusual material not produced for regular markets.
